I remember submitting some images but it was a long time ago, and as I never heard anything more, I assumed that the project was scraped.
If I had known I might have bought some for gifts.

Violence is never the answer.

I have signed a number of petitions thru the internet.
Some people are certain that it does nothing, a waste of time.
I agree it is better to sign a paper petition, or send a letter thru the US mail but I am not certain that using the internet is fruitless.
I think after this attack in Arizona that people need to voice some kind objection to public and private persons promoting hate and violence.
I feel a lot of anger about the shootings in Arizona, but violence is not the answer.
Think we must find other ways to cope.
I discovered years ago that this action helps me defuse anger.
I call it "Roar like a Lion"
Sit, stand, whatever, Stick out your tongue with your mouth open, flex your hands like claws, open eyes wide, and Roar!
Repeat, until anger is gone, or in retreat.
Very satisfying when you do it with a friend but will work when done alone.
Thus, to those who have much anger and hatred, I will join you with a Roar, but not in even wishing harm to those who anger you.

Made My Day

I just received a phone call from a very kind lady in Pennsylvania, who had purchased an earring and pin set of mine at a garage sale. She call me to ask what metal was used, and get an idea when they were made.
She was very happy to have located me, my card was still with the original box.
They were an abstract heart made with nickel silver and turquoise beads. I must have made them in the 90's.
Anyway I told her that I had a website at Joygibat.com
Putting some form of business card with one's work is always a good Idea!
Am looking thru some photos to see if I have any of those earrings and pins. If I find any will post them here.

A lovely lady just sent me this photo, last night she gave her husband, T, a Copper Rose, which he has put in his pocket while the maitre d' took their picture.
It was their 1st Anniversary, and she wore the same outfit that she wore for their wedding.
The dress is extra special, as her neighbor gave it to her.

The Post Office and Asian Food

I love the Post Office and use their online site a lot.This morning it would not accept an address at 525, so as there was something wrong I double checked and found my error, there should be a 7 in front of the 5. Fixed that and printed the mailing label.
I have been printing the labels for over a year, usually the letter carrier picks up the package at my mail box.
It has really been a big help but no service as Columbus Day so off I went to OK City airport office that is open 24/7.
It is also an excuse to stop at an Asian market as I love all the exotic vegetables, spices and food.

With the fresh veggies there were things that were called Red Tuna and Green Tuna, I picked one up and took it to the lady who was putting out more veggies. She whips out this huge sharp knife, peals it and indicates that I am to try it raw. I do, strange flavor a bit sweet, she points to the Green ones and says "sweeter" so I have bought two of the green ones. Goggled tuna and discovered that they are:

So I have also learned something new, "these tuna are not fishy" but have a sweet and unique flavor.
They also have a lot of small hard black seeds that I don't think will easily digest.
The market also carries many different types of rice. I bought some Brown Jasmine Rice. They also had Black Sweet Rice that I like to use for sushi.
The weather is sunny without the heat of summer.
All in all, a wonderful day.

My Rugged Cross

Just received an email from Tito's Gallery in Las Vegas, NM. that they have put my "Rugged Cross" in a show that they are sponsoring " The Cross as Art" as part of the celebration of Las Vegas 175th birthday.
The cross is welded steel with brazed accents of brass, about 12 by 6 inches.

Blessing of the Morning Sun

Over the years I have made southwest images, using flame colored copper on suede mat-board.
I like the contrast between the hard metal and the soft suede.
Sky blue is my favorite color but I only have a little left, while I have a lot more of other colors, which aren't as pleasing to my eye. I would buy some more but it is so expensive about $40 a sheet.
Necessity is supposed to be the mother of invention, so I started playing with some pastels on the beige matboard.
At first I tried to just do a light blue which didn't work. I could not get the same tone everywhere.
So this is my first attempt that I am willing to show.

MovingAppleworks6 files(draw) to new iMac

I posted this on my LiveJournal and thought I posted here, guess I was more tired than I thought, so again.

Feel as though I have really accomplished something these last 10 days.
On the 17 of this month I got a new iMac, only to discover that all my files in my older Macs were not compatible.
I have a lot them in AppleWorks 6 Draw program, which lets you do anything, put in anything, it is really great.
Apple discontinued AppleWorks and now has iWorks which won't open all the AW files, especially the Draw.
Spent a week trying to research ways around problem, they can be moved but I would be unable to change a letter or a line. I want to keep changing them.

Finally figured out a way to do it.
I am able to to move them to my new iMac, open and change the files, delete, add to and most important, Print them on new Canon printer.

Yea, for me and I am sure I have made some salespeople "Happy" as I was going to return both.

Tito's Gallery showing Jane Wasaw Pottery

This is a interesting gallery located in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
I have known and consigned some of my work with Tito and Mary Chavez for more than 10 years. If anyone lives near Las Vegas, I suggest that you stop by. If you are an artist you might contact them about consignment. They are very honest and caring people.

Jane Warsaw Pottery Exhibition at Tito’s Gallery during June.

Las Vegas resident Jane Warsaw will exhibit recent works of hand-thrown pottery during the month of June at Tito’s Gallery, 157 Bridge Street in Old Town Las Vegas. Warsaw, an accomplished potter, will punctuate her continuing exhibit with gallery talks and pottery wheel demonstrations on June 12, starting at 1 PM.

Warsaw shows her colorful pottery in the gallery. She also teaches classes in her studio, and the public is invited to discuss that with her.

Besides her work as a sculptor, potter and teacher of clay arts, Warsaw has had a career as a software engineer and as a professional musician, and she is currently teaching in the music department at the United World College.

Refreshments will be served from 1-4 PM on June 12. Interested persons may get more information by calling Mary Chávez at 505-425-3745.

Ball of Whacks

Received an early Mothers' Day gift from my daughter in Chicago.
Love it and had not known of the Ball of Whacks, like "the whole ball of wax".
So a couple photos of an arrangement I made.

There are endless possibilities with the 30 pieces, which are magnetized.
Playing and manipulating the pieces of the ball is believed to be a way to creative thinking.
We shall see if I come up with some new ideas.

The Artful Bra Project inspired Bountiful Bra Project

Just a quick note and a link.
The goal of the Bountiful Bra Project is to increase awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds to help our Charlotte County neighbours who are dealing with all types of cancer.
The Bountiful Bra Project was inspired by Mary Day Colcord of Barrington, New Hampshire. Early in 2009 Mary made us aware of a breast cancer awareness project organized by the Quilters of South Carolina. Being a breast cancer patient for several years, Mary said she seldom found much about breast cancer to make her smile. Mary felt that their 'ARTFUL BRA PROJECT' was a wonderful exception. We agreed and immediately decided to bring a similar project to Charlotte County, New Brunswick. We decided to call ours the BOUNTIFUL BRA PROJECT. We thank Mary for her inspiration and starting us on our way.

Firehouse Art Center, Norman, OK

I stopped by to take a couple photos of a friend's work and decided that I would take a few photos of the gallery.
I am disappointed that everything came out with a yellow tinge.

Friday, the Thirteenth was the monthly ArtWalk in Norman, OK.
A good idea that is happening in many towns and cities.
I had the good fortune to see Cecil Lee's exhibit "The Garden as Art" which is on display at the Santa Fe Depot until November 29.
It is a lovely show featuring Cecil's gorgeous garden which is a work of art in its self.
Cecil has manipulated his digital photographs, repeating images to the point that some reminds one of fractuals.
Most of Norman's galleries, interesting shops, were opened 6 to 10 pm.
I awoke Saturday to a phone call that was an order for 7 copper roses for a 7th wedding anniversary gift, they need to be shipped Monday.
Luckily I had been making a set of seven and had five roses made, so spending most of Saturday in my studio, I was able to finish them today.

Tomorrow I will make a little copper heart with their names, box everything, and take to post office.

Brass Roses or "Yellow Rose of Texas", Beautiful Wedding Gift!

Received a request for a Brass Rose from a man in Texas. So thought it would be fun to make some " Yellow Roses of Texas"
Similar to my Copper Roses this Brass Rose also has Brass leaves.
The rose and leaves are attached to a steel rod which I cover with brass in a way to look like thorns but are not sharp.
It also comes with a glass vase, story card, and a Brass Heart.

Have noticed a slowing of sales over the summer, do hope with cooler weather, sales will warm up.

Metal Reflections on Suede

A couple summers ago, I did some small abstract metal sculptures. I was rather intrigued with them, sold a few but felt they were not quite complete. Just hanging them on a wall just didn't work, partly because they were so small.. they started out as Artist Trading Cards (2" x 3.5")

Couple days ago when I was supposed to be making some Southwestern things to send to gallery in NM, I had an idea on how to mount my little reflections.

I am not completely satisfied with the results but feel I am on the right track. I have lots of suede mat-board that I got several years ago. It is now about $45 a sheet 48"x36". It is also tempting me to do larger pieces. At least it is a solution without having to resort to framing.

Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Big changes with Credit Card

Although I can't think of anything positive to do, I am wondering how the changes in charging interest (about 22% a year ) from the moment you charge anything on your credit card, will this hurt art sales or any sale, especially over the internet?
No more grace period of 20 to 30 days and this is for people who pay off their balance each month. Also no more miles or rebates/
The letters I have gotten say that these new policies will take effect in July or August. Bonus are also gone. This affects about every one.
I know that my first purchase on ebay would not have happened if I couldn't use a credit card. It was a wise decision on my part as it was a scam, several buyer got together (thru emails) and determined the seller was a fraud. We could not get ebay to do anything for several weeks. I and others who had used credit cards, quickly notified our providers and put a stop. They ones who had used a debit card, or let ebay (Paypal) remove money from their checking account were out of luck, and lost the hundred or so.
I hate the thought that I have to pay interest that starts the minute I buy something with a credit card, no matter how good my credit is, or that I pay the balance in full every month.

I didn't mean to complain about losing a sale.
Of course I didn't like it but am glad that I found out and think I have the right solution.
Got two orders off today. One was for an set of two roses, the gentleman from Indiana had phoned me, he doesn't like using a computer so he sent me a letter with instructions and a check.
The other order was a first for me.
Last week a buyer called from Baghdad wanting 7 Copper Roses. This was first time I have made a sale in Iraq.

I shipped them to his wife in Hawaii. Wow, Priority Mail is expensive to Hawaii.
I am hoping I will get a couple photos to add to my collection of "Photos from Patrons" web page.

On a very personal note, I had all of my bottom teeth removed, and a denture inserted. I now have a very expensive smile, which is nice. Will post a photo later on, right now I have two round 50 scent size bruises just below my bottom lip. I have tried covering them with make-up but they still show. Am going to visit the dentist early Monday as I have some sore spots that he has to do something about. Right now I can't chew, only sip. Might be able to lose a few pounds which would be very nice.

I have been telling artists that have a website, to put their ABU auctions on their websites and blogs
I have a link on my web page that shows what I have for sale at ABU as I thought it helped us both.
However; I have changed my mind.
I lost a sale of a set of three roses, as a customer explained :

Along with helping him raise five children, she put together writings on mathematics, art, beauty, philosophy, and child raising. She is credited with developing the Golden Mean, a crucial idea in aesthetic theory.

As a First Prize

This Copper Rose was chosen not for a First Prize but as an award for for First Prize at a Classical Rapier Tourney with the SCA.
The tourney is called "Haire Affaire of the Heart”, 2009. So Conan J. wanted me to include a little copper heart with the information on it.
This was a fun sale.
I hope he sends me some photos of the event.

Although I have some heat in the studio where I do the welding and brazing, it is not warm enough for me, so I end up making excuses not to work out there. I got a lot done last week but little the past days as we are having what I hope is the last cold spell.

The other crabapple blossoms that are outside will probably get frozen, as we often have freezing weather in Oklahoma during March. Oh well, I can wish and bringing a few inside makes me happy.
The little tree has been here for years, rarely does it bear fruit as it blooms too early.

I had a lovely birthday, now that I am 72, think I should start deciding what I want to do when I grow up.

We had a couple of nasty tornados a couple days ago. One of my daughters and I saw the storm approach as we returned from OK City. She took me to a Korean restaurant for my birthday. Had a wonderful meal,
Bibimbap (Mixed Vegetables on Rice) with lot of little side dishes. Then to a Korean grocery store for a big jar if Kim Chee and sauce to make the Bibimbap. I got lovely gifts from my other daughters and grandchildren, it ended up that I celebrated for several days. Very nice.

Valentine Rose in Ruby Colored Vase

I have been complaining that I have had trouble getting my blood pressure to a lower level. I am taking several medications which has not been very successful.
A friend told me that she had heard that drinking "hibiscus tea" helped.
So I have given it a try (Now Foods - Heavenly Hibiscus Tea) and it seems to help. For the past 4 days, I have been getting SYS readings in the 130s and 120s instead of 150s, 160s and 170s. My DIA has always been in the 60s and 70s and has not changed.
I am not recommending that it is a cure, but will say that it has helped and that it is a pleasant herbal tea.
There is also a recipe for "Hibiscus Tea with Vodka and Citrus" thru Google which I haven't tried, but sound interesting.

I thought that January would be slow, but I have been getting orders my Copper Roses.
I found a couple Ruby colored glass vases so am offering them with a single full Copper Rose for Valentine Day. This one

It is a bit like Spring inside my home.
My daughter, M.A., gave me some Paper Whites Bulbs when she visited at Thanksgiving.
Today, January 1, they bloomed and filled the house with their delightful fragrance.

Also a friend gave me a lovely Amaryllis for Thanksgiving, and it has bloomed again.

The last day of 2008 was lovely and warm ( 70º) for Oklahoma. I walked around the Duck Pond, the trees are not ready to bud yet, which is good as we will get more cold weather before long. It is just a delight to be able to walk outside without a coat and enjoy the blue, blue sky and warm breezes.

Came across this quote and realized how true it is. Especially, it is how I feel when I complete a project or even finish an order.

These Seven Copper Roses were finished and shipped just before Christmas as I wanted them to arrive in plenty of time for a special 7th Wedding Anniversary in early January.

Although arthritis in my shoulder is slowing me down, there is something special about making things that gives me a sense of fulfillment.

I like this set of 7 Copper Roses better than the last set that I sold.
These are going to a gentleman in West Virginia, who really plans ahead.
His 7 wedding anniversary isn't until March '09, but he wanted to get them before Christmas.
I told him that although I was in my seventies, I was pretty sure I would be around next year, but I guess he doesn't want to take any chances.

I am going to offer a similar set on ArtByUs as a "Special Order"

I am very glad that I have retired from doing art shows, especially the outdoors ones.
I took some hot vegetarian soup to a friend that has set up at our local Downtown Art Market this cold windy Saturday. He was alone, and I was sure he had no access for a break or hot food.
His sister is doing a two day art show, in OK City. At least she is indoors.
I don't envy either, what I do miss is seeing the artists and skilled craftsmen.
It was fun seeing some of them again, but too cold to stand long and visit.
Surprising there were buyers at the show.
That makes it worthwhile.

"Poor Pitiful Pauline"

I can't chew gum and walk at the same time, I can't walk and talk on a cell phone. In fact I have trouble even doing one thing at a time but usually I could do several thing spread out over a day. Not now.
My creativity, as I like to think of it has been asleep or perhaps comatose. I have been able to fill orders and was able to make a few modifications on my roses by making them taller, with more sets of leaves, for a gentleman who wanted 7 in a vase for his 7 wedding anniversary, however it took me much longer than it should.

I am unable to come up with anything new or exciting or even get back to developing more of my "Reflections."
I have been concentrating on walking, which I have had some success, trying to stay on a low salt diet is very difficult and I am not doing very well with that nor has my blood pressure gone down much, even though there has been several increases in dosage. I have lost some weight but need to lose more.
In other words, I am failing as an artist and at getting well .....I am a poor pitiful pauline!

Although he had a Paypal account he didn't want to use it as his wife would see it, so he had a friend pay me, and then he repaid his friend, but to complicate matters I then had to send the roses to his parents' home. However, in spite of all the complications, they arrived on time and his wife was happy with his gift.

Wedding Ideas and update

My first Stroke, I think.
A week ago Sunday, my daughter brought me home from the hospital. The Thursday before I had gotten up with a strange and nasty headache, decided that something was wrong. Drove to the urgent medical office. Got there fine, but once inside, I could barely speak. They called an ambulance to take me to hospital, I was having or had a stroke.
Evidently, I am one of the very lucky ones and have little or no damage to the brain.
So, I am now on low salt, etc. diet. Looks like I will need to take a pill or so.
I have my own blood pressure meter which will tell me how I am doing.

Am finishing another batch of Prosperity Feathers for a Rotary group that is traveling to Denmark. As the copper feathers are light, they make good traveling gifts and are not expensive.

I received some photos from a couple who used two of my Copper Roses in their wedding ceremony as their first gifts to each other. Rather romantic ?

Am hoping to get back to work on more of my steel "Reflections" and have something new to show.

Yesterday I received emails from two very talented friends who were concerned with creativity.
One a classical concert pianist and professor, who felt that though he plays superbly "but the COMPOSER is the genius." "--the creator! " and a potter who has built her own kiln, mixes her own glazes, who feels "we let what we have already done and what we have, dictate who we are and what we do in the future"

This is timely for me, as I have been doing "repeats" as they pay the bills, are safe and almost stress free.

There is nothing more wonderful than having an "eureka!" experience, but for me they are far between.
Usually, happening after, periods of stress that hurts. Then, the refining effort to complete the vision. Sometimes, the refining seems to take forever and then it might not be financially successful.
I know that even my best are not really significant, but I had the experience of feeling " I got it"
That feeling is what matters to me. It is feeling "in tune" with the universe, while being "tone deaf".

Although, this sounds like a joke, years ago, a friend told me of having a short conversation with Albert Einstein. He had the pleasure of escorting Einstein from airport to a lecture hall. They talked about ideas and creativity, my friend always wrote down all his ideas on notepads, but found to his amazement that Einstein didn't.
Einstein told him " I don't have that many good ones".

Thus, I stopped worrying if I was really an artist or what art is, I will just do what I can, enjoy the process.

First of all Best Wishes for a Happy and Peaceful New Yea
I had a lovely Christmas with most my family here for the day, Strangefetish stayed in Chicago, but we all got to speak with her on the phone.
I got some lovely gifts, but this has to be my very favorite.

It is a little oil by my best friend who lives just a half block away. When I saw it, it was Love.
It makes me feel happy and youthful, which are important sensations, it was so kind of her to give it up and to give it to me.

I think I have Bursitis or something like it. Have actually seen a doctor, and am taking some medication which makes me sleepy, but is helping some. So has the weather, it got up to 76 degrees yesterday. Cold will return, but then we will have a couple of great days that make winter bearable for me.
I have an order of 50 Prosperity Feather to be ready by Thursday. I have finished them, just need to details, signature, and slipping each in a little Clear Bag envelope. The Norman, OK Rotary GSE Team is giving them away. Next week, have 30 more for a Rotary individual who will present them to other national officers.
I am tired of making P F, but grateful for sales at the beginning of the New Year.
Rotary and other organizations have been a good resource for my small items, often referred to as bread and butter, which is apt.
My new year's resolutions include:
Re-doing my website. Trying to get some translation help as the rate of exchange for other countries is favorable. I had two sales to UK in December. First Class International is not very expensive.
Lose the proverbial 25 lbs. and continue with Tai Chi.
Keep enjoying life.

Banned or Blocked ? Censorship

In the 1940-50s, maybe even the 60s, "Banned in Boston" , usually meant that a book banned there would be a best seller.
Well, I just found out that I am or my website is "Blocked in Kuwait" and I have sold the welded tree that I just listed.

The couple had seen my trees before. A few weeks ago, they tried to contact me, but to no avail.
To quote from their email
"That's what I meant about your website being blocked.....they have seen something there that violates their delicate sensibilities, and so we can't go to your site when we're at home. Strange... D::: thinks it is because some of your art depicts Indian religious symbols, so they'll block it." Except for the censorship on the internet, movies, and radio, it's better than most of the Middle East.

They visited their son in Rome and were able to get in touch with me, so am double boxing the tree and off it goes to Kuwait. I don't have to worry about customs as it will be thru an APO.

(I am definitely a liberal but I have not thought of my website as being offensive to Muslims, but there is the case of the teacher, in Sudan, who named a teddy bear, Mohammad. )

I have always advised that one use file cards to list what one has sold at shows, put name of show, city, date etc.
and I have always done so until I forgot at this last show.
As the school was taking the money, and I wasn't there all the time, I didn't think it would matter.
Well, it is 2 weeks since the show, I have forgotten now what I took, what was left I put in our little local gallery. The check is on its way to me, but I don't think I will get a list of what sold which will not help me next year to know what to take.
As it was so easy to do with the help of my grandchildren, daughter, and son-in-law that I plan to do it again next year.
This is how my display looked. I should have taken more pieces for the wall, but ran out of time.

Althought I didn't sell it, I had a couple very interested in the wall tree at $650.
It is pretty. I finished it in time for EBSQ Autumn Foliage instead of Flower of the Month Show .
I hope to list it on my website soon.

Thursday morning I shipped a copper roses and vase to the Dallas area, (about 200 miles south of me), Express Mail, which is costing almost as much a the rose.
The reason is this gentleman wants it to give to someone with which he has a lunch date on Monday.
I am imagining that it is going to be some lunch.
I am now wondering what he will do when he invites her to dinner?
Maybe - jewelry?

Anyway I am having lovely fantasies.

Today is a good day for them.
Very cold this morning.
We had our first frost, but by noon, it was a warm 74 degrees and a great blue sky.
I have brought in the herbs, some flowering plants, hibiscus, jasmine, lavender and miniture rose.
I hope I can get them to winter over, which might be a fantasy.
I have good light from the clear story windows that are above the cabinets.
I have a great ladder, so I climb up and water them once a week.
When one is 70, one needs a good ladder.
The others are in front of living room windows which covers one wall.
As the windows are single panes of glass, it does get chilly but there is lots of sunshine.
I do close the drapes when it is very cold.

Now back to work on making stuff for show.

On the Road Again

I said that I have completely stopped doing shows, however, I am doing a very little one in a week or so. One of my daughters is working as librarian at a private day school. The one day show is just for family and friends of the school.
She thought I should do it. So, here I go again.
I am not putting up my usual display, which takes hours to set up and tear down. This will be simple, it has to be. I have sold my van and now have a older Honda Civic which I really like but it limits what I can take, which is good.
I have strong and able grandsons who will help carry things for me.
I don't even have to be there, they will do the selling for me.
It is a half mile from their home.
Think I will enjoy this. Will give report soon.
I uploaded some old photos of my display just to show the complexity of it. They have scanned very dark, not going to try to lighten them, am sleepy.

I am not sure what happened when I listed this single Copper Rose on ArtByUs, I used the "Buy it Now" options, but did not list an beginning price, so I have two bids on it,and it is at 26 cents. Thus, the minimum bid is now 51 cents.

This is not what I intended, so I thought I would put it in this blog in hopes a few readers will bid more.

The first is Eye of Ra, on the opposite side is Eye of Horus.

My daughter, C, suggested that I use the name "Reflections" instead of " reminders" for my little steel sculptures.
I like "REFLECTIONS" so much better. Am changing the name to that.
They are getting bids at ArtByUs. One auction has already ended. I received 3 bids which ended at $11.28. for "BALANCE"
I will put more "REFLECTIONS" on Auction tomorrow and the following days. Most will be abstracts, however, a few will be more realistic.
I have always loved abstractions but as I live in Oklahoma, I find that people mainly buy realistic images. This is a chance for me to find a more sophisticated audience.

Some Progress on ATCs

Have been working on what I call ATC but I think I like them best hanging in groups of threes. Have used some black bead cord, which I think works. Have also welded a hanger for them.. Would really like to know what you think. (These are approx. 2½x3½, steel and brass.)

This, I call, ArtistTradingCircle, as I have changed the size (4", steel/brass ) also the shape. I know, I am not "coloring inside the lines", as I was taught to do.

But I am having Fun!
I not sure where I am going.
I guess when I get there, I'll know, ,,,,,,,,, maybe.

Canon Powershot 550

It arrived, for $160 including shipping etc,. I upgraded from a 1.3 mp to a 7mp. Am putting the new and old photos, side by side, to see if I can see the difference. I can.

I was tempted to wait and try a get later the Canon SRL, but felt I really need one now and this I could afford. Oh, I hate to spend money but think I made the right decision.
Now to reread the instruction books (there are 2) until I understand them.

Romantic Roses

Have just completed an order for two large Copper Rose Buds with Brass Leaves. They are going to be used in a wedding ceremony as the first gifts that the couple gives to each other. This sounds like a lovely and romantic idea. I hope they will send me some pictures of the event. I have been busy this past week or so.

Then, the local "Firehouse Art Center, has a rush order for 4 of my Circle of Friendship. They are on their way to Japan. I did them in different color of leather lacing. They look better than the photos.
I also tried putting some of my brother's stuff (Playboy) on eBay. A waste of time and money. Sold two of the 4 listings, but one of the two hasn't paid. Just not worth it.
Anticipating the arrival of a new 7 mp Canon Powershot camera tomorrow. The one I have been using is only 1.3, so hope my photos will improve.
Am back to working on my little welded ATCs. I really like them, think they will sell, but am going to try ArtBy Us and some other places than eBay.

This has nothing to do with arts and/or crafts, but thought I would mention it here.
Am listing some vintage PLAYBOY barware that my brother collected. I have been storing them since his death in 1984. They are in good condition. No Reserve, starting at $1.

I am going to get rid of some of the stuff that I have been keeping. Why, because I am a pack rat and I hate to throw things away. I have been in this house since 1963. The house has great storage spaces.
At least the storm shelter is empty. A daughter took over 300 pounds of scrap steel to a salvage yard for me. I probably only have a ton or so left.
Back to the promise I made to myself about fixing up a light diffuse box. I have made some progress. I have something that is temporary, but limited to small things. However, I now need to get a couple photographic light bulbs, which means a trip to OKC unless I come up with a better idea.

Finished another order for 7 Copper Roses for 7th wedding anniversary and put them in mail, Wednesday afternoon. Since then I have been playing in welding studio. Did few more abstract ARCs, similar to ones shown last week. Then had couple new ideas. As it is dark, I had trouble with photos but am posting them anyway.

I finished seven little ones this afternoon, but didn't get them cleaned up and polished before dark, so am recording a couple photos with flash. They sure have been a lot of fun to do. Am thinking of hanging them from black cord, various levels. Anyway here are the photos,

Have tried various ways to photograph this little piece. I like it but as it is shinny, I am having problems even when I diffuse the light. Anyway another attempt at ATC. It is copper and brass. 2½ by 3½.

Different Direction

Have been doing a lot of copper roses and copper feathers. So decided I needed to depart from realism, and explore shapes and compositions in slightly different way. Am using the ATC format of 2½" X 3½" Probably will do a hundred as by then I should know what I am doing or forget it. The sun is down, so my photos are not very good, but neither are my first ones. When I get better would like to trade.

Burnt Lemons

I would really like to find something positive to say about burning food on stove, at least this time, I didn't melt the pan and it is easy to clean. The broth just popped right out.

A Love Affair with Welding
